Summer Evenings...

As excited as I am for fall, it makes me sad for these summer evenings to come to an end! Miles loves being outside in the evenings. We go for walks, lay out a picnic blanket and read books, chat with neighbors, play fetch with the dog, and enjoy the fresh air!

Unfortunately we are experiencing some major sleep regression with him out of the blue! He doesn't want to be in his crib if we put him in there awake but slightly sleepy (which is what we typically did and was working great until a couple of weeks ago!), if we put him in there asleep he is good until he realizes where he is and then he starts screaming, if we soothe or rock him back to sleep, he wakes up the second we put him in his crib again and starts screaming again, he doesn't want to be in his bassinet beside our bed - he wants to be HELD!

That being said, night times have been a battle field at our house recently! We have been going through a cycle from 8:30 - midnight every night where we put him to bed, he wakes up and screams, we soothe him, over and over again until he finally gives up and falls asleep (or I give up and just hold him).  He is also nursing every 3-hours again through the night. Growth spurt? Teething? Not sure what it is or what to do, but this mama is TIRED!

  3. Hey, we used the sleep lady books. Just like anything else you have to do whats best for you, but the shuffle totally helped us (we did a version that worked for us) and just the information in there was helpful to know what stage the baby is in. Let me know if you want it, I can mail it to you!
