Third Floor Finished by Thanksgiving?

Soo we are taking on a major(ish) project in a short timeframe. We are OVERHAULING the third floor before our Thanksgiving guests arrive! The goal is that in just two shorts weeks, we will have this room freshened up to the point it will make a suitable guest room for my brother and his girlfriend. We are doing a super deep clean, painting, installing new baseboards, reframing the windows, white washing the floors, and setting up a cozy guest bedroom and bathroom!

So far we have completed deep clean #1, ripped out all of the carpeting, removed the terrible trim, and painted the walls (My favorite color, Martha Stewart's Flagstone, of course!

The walls look GREAT! Such a transformation. The floors are in really bad shape, however. Even after sanding (which I don't have a picture of yet), they are still not very pretty.  It is good thing we are going for a bit of a rustic feel with the finish, because that is what we will have!  Here are some pictures of the room post carpet removal and painting:

I love the wall color with the bedding:

This is hilarious... Miles slept in his moses basket in the master bathroom while Evan was upstairs sanding. BEST NAP he has ever taken! EVER! This boy loves white noise.

Tomorrow my goal is to finish the second coat of paint and whitewash the floors (my mother-in-law is going to watch Miles!) Then hopefully Saturday and Sunday we will install the beautiful, new trim and put a coat or two of poly on the floors. I have been day dreaming about tiling the bathroom floors next weekend, but in reality know that is a HUGE stretch! But maybe????? We'll see how this weekend unfolds.

Overall it feels SO GOOD to have a house project going on again. It seriously gets my blood flowing and makes me feel so inspired! I can't wait to share with you the final result!
