Evan's B-Day Recap!

Yesterday was Evan's 29th birthday!! :) We both had LONG days at work, so we just had a small, casual shindig with Evan's family and a couple of friends... cake.. beer... balloons.. and presents!

Spring (Couples) Shower

This weekend we celebrated our friends Dean & Ashley's upcoming wedding with a "Couples Shower". They are the cutest couple and it was so much fun!

Most Beautiful Bathroom

Spring Snow, Strawberries, Shopping and other things I've been up to lately :)

I know I haven't been around much... Life has been busy but life has been good! Spring has been amazing :) We are enjoying lots and lots of walks around the neighborhood, by far my favorite part of each day. I love the quality time with Evan (and of course Tucker!) We call them "walkie talkies" because we have the best talks on our walks!

Earlier this week we got SNOW!! Woke up to about an inch of it on the lawn. It was actually beautiful. Melted about 5 minutes after the sun came up... which was ok with me :) 

My coworker Lauren brought me a strawberry cupcake on Tuesday. She is so sweet! Yes, it tasted as good as it looked!

I've also treated myself to a couple treats this week... a new scarf from J.Crew... Toms (have you tried on a pair?  They may be kind of weird looking but they are SO comfortable!)... and some new make-up - always a nice little pick-me-up!

When I'm not having fun walking, working, shopping, or snoozing, we've been working away on the kitchen! It is coming along slowly but surely... Even though we are just beginning the process, I can already tell it is going to be the heart of the home! 

What's Cookin' in the Kitchen

We've officially started the kitchen renovation demolition!

It looks bad right now... but I've never loved the kitchen more. Having the wall opened up brings in SOOOO much light and I love it! Makes the house feel 10x bigger. I cannot wait until the reno is complete :)

The plumber is coming tomorrow to reroute the stack. Electrician comes next week to upgrade and reroute the electrical, add 5 canned lights in the ceiling, two pendant lights above the island, and new outlets for the fridge/microwave (which will be moving). See the plan for the layout here.

Shortly thereafter, contractor is coming to remove the studs, reframe the wall and redo the ceiling. Then, our friend who owns a wood flooring company is going to rip out the pergo and install hardwoods to match the rest of the house.

THEN, new slide-in range, farmhouse sink, countertops, and beautiful oil-rubbed bronze bridge faucet!

I actually find this wallpaper charming! Makes me sentimental about the history of our house :)

This weekend we are opening up the dining room wall (we just want to widen the entry). Let there be MORE light! :)
